Fantastic little radio September 2, 2010 A.Chance A great little radio ultra small size perfect for travel, crystal clear sound, picks up all the stations and really easy to tune to the station you want, headphones for private listening. To sum up the best small radio I have ever owned.Well worth the money.
Roberts Sports DAB August 30, 2010 Little Red Rooster Bought this to accompany me on my daily commute by train between Edinburgh & Glasgow. Signal on DAB can be a bit patchy especially on the approach to Glasgow but otherwise good, though I find that the pick up is better when I sit next in a window seat - obviously! Nice thing is that when the DAB signal disappears, the radio gives goes totally silent - no FM hiss to endure. Out & about walking the dog in the evenings this is a brilliant radio, crisp clear music & I find that using my Sony bass boost earphones is more comfortable than the earphones supplied.
The built in radio speaker is a bit tinny, but useful when outside in the garden & not wanting to wear the headphones when I am at my work. I put the radio inside a pouch which I have for my earphones & this has helped keep the shiny surface from getting scratched.
Overall, great for listening to the radio on the train & I would recommend this DAB portable.
radio star ! August 29, 2010 TonyD (Up North) I travel a lot with work, but hate wearing headphones all the time, so this is the ideal radio for me to take with me. Very neat package - fairly robust and the menus are easy to navigate. It immediately found 44 stations the first time I turned it on, the reception is superb, and the speaker quality is perfectly adequate. Had all my presets set up within a few minutes and I am very happy with this purchase.
Nearly perfect August 28, 2010 Pedro Bought this when my old Sony AM/FM firnally bit the dust after tons of years use. Delighted with the size and weight although smaller will always be better. Sound quality is scarily good and reception not a issue. No need to use the ariel yet so thats not a concern either. Im in central belt scotland btw. Volume is also good for use in noisey sports grounds. One small downside is the inability to scroll through the favourites menu chanels. The need to access the favourites and then scroll thro this each time is a bit of a pain but im getting used to it. I'm not that interested in the speaker but it sounds fine and might come in handy. All in all im delighted and would recommend it highly.
Small but perfectly formed August 28, 2010 TaraBT I love DAB radios! I have one in my living room, a clock radio (with obligatory iDock) and even one in my car so really the only place left to fill with digital quality was my bathroom (and don't you just hate going room to room and always feeling like you're in a time warp swapping between analogue and digital!).
All my other radios are from Pure so I originally looked at their small portable but was disappointed by the fact you had to buy a separate charge pack, and then the play time before recharging seemed low. So, I investigated this model and I don't think I could have made a better choice.
The size is perfect to pop onto the window sill, the controls are easy to handle with a rocker switch to change stations and buttons for power and volume. The best thing though is that it seems to hold its charge very well. OK, I only use it for about an hour a day and the charge indicator sits at 2 our of 3 bars for quite a while, but it seems to be ages between having to plug it in for a power top-up.
I guess my only tiny negative comment would be that the aerial is very flimsy (I can see it getting bent if I knock the radio over) but this is only minor, overall a great little radio!
