 Fantastic, affordable coffee maker July 4, 2010

If you're like me and have fairly basic needs when it comes to coffee - you want strong, good quality coffee with cream or frothy milk but limited faffing - this coffee machine is perfect. I've had it for about 6 months now and it still works as well as it did brand new. The milk frother is quick and easy to use, and importantly, easy to clean (it can go in the dishwasher but also doesn't take very long to clean by hand). The section you put the filter coffee in is removable and also easily cleaned. Both the milk and coffee can be kept warm by using the hot plates, which is a really nice feature (I often pop the machine on before jumping in the shower and by the time I come out the coffee is done and kept at the right temperature, along with the milk which can then be quickly frothed up). Every aspect of the machine is intuitive and, most importantly, it involves little effort to use and clean. I spent such a long time browsing the many models of expensive coffee machines on the market and so many of them had seemingly pointless features or required particular coffee capsules to be bought. I'm so glad I went for this no-nonsense machine, and I can't recommend highly enough to others!

Highly recommend. Does what it says on the packet. Easy to clean but I recommend you use a coffee filter paper inside the metal filter as this can be pulled out cleanly - bag and all - and the coffee grains scattered on your hostas (slugs hate coffee grains) or popped into the composter.
Bought for me because the original plunger coffee maker made such a mess in the kitchen sink. Why is it one of life's mysteries that coffee grains seem to get everywhere? Not with this machine. I also live in a hard water area and a 6-weekly wash through with Oust cleans it up.
Kids love the milk frother - especially for making hot chocolate but I rarely use it for coffee unless I am making a latte for someone.
If you want a decent, easily made, no fuss coffee with no mess - buy this. Also has timer for that 'wake up and smell the coffee' sensation. Very pleased especially as there are no more complaints about the mess in the sink.

was very disappointed with this
it takes up a lot of room - but it does look good and it promises a lot.
the first thing i noticed was that the little blue lights ween't coming on when they were supposed to. the frother wasn't really frothing and gave up altogether after a couple of goes. the controls were a bit hit and miss and after returning 2 machines i gave up in despair. i've gone back to instant coffee until i can find a reliable machine that doesn't function on expensive pods

I bought this coffee maker with trepidation but after reading a few good reviews on it. I wasn't disappointed. I have suffered in the past with coffee makers that produce barely hot coffee and then luke warm for the next cup. This one kept the coffee hot. The milk frother is excellent though I found the milk tended to 'catch' on the bottom if left too long on the heat. I would recommed it to anyone who enjoys a decent cup of coffee. Wonderful.

Makes a great coffee and the milk frother is very good, the timer is a great idea too. And it keeps the coffee warm on the hot plate. Good value
