| Customer Reviews: a wonderful read June 3, 2010 Rebecca (county durham, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The second book in the Darke Academy following the story of scholarship girl, Cassie Bell. After her first term at the academy things have changed for her. She now has a 'budding' intense romance and has some strain on her friendships with Isabella and Jake.
Now a member of the elite 'Few' she has many personal struggles to deal with and still has to find her 'niche' within the Few. Her journey is not easy and is quite intense with obstacles she has to overcome and conquer.
The book is well written and a great second part to the series, I loved the pace and loved the little twists and introduction of certain scenes. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for the third book to come out in August!!

Absolutly fantasitc book i just couldn't put it down! i'm a slow reader and i read it in well under a day!! i would recommend this to anyone who like vampire books as this is similar but has its own twist!
Huge improvement from book 1 April 27, 2010 T. Segurado (Glasgow) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you read my review on book one you know I wasn't won over this series. Too young content for my thirty years on! Do not take me wrong the story is good but lacks a bit of dark side as Vampire Academy, Twilight and Fallen have! It is meant for very young readers. However, I have to back up on my words now and say that it got much much better in this second installment! The plots are developing better, the characters are more likable now and you want to find out what happens next! I'm looking forward to read the rest of the series hoping it will get better by the page!
Blood Ties was Fab!!! March 11, 2010 Ms. C. A. Anderson (East Kilbride, Scotland) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I had this pre ordered after reading the first Darke Academy novel and I could not put it down.
Being a fan of a good Gothic series I am impressed by the fact that Gabriella Poole manages to still keep this hold in the follow up despite the changing location of the Darke Academy school. This time the elite and beautiful attend the Darke Acadamy in New York which holds some keys to some of the happenings in the book.
The eeriness, friendship and gothic are all still there. Cassie having already been wrongly placed in the world of the Few, is finding it difficult and struggling with the spirit Estelle inside her, as well as to come to terms with her status a Few member and all it intails.
On top of her already dangerous romance, secrets regarding the Few come to light to Cassie and this causes trouble for her and her friends. With the return of an arch enemy the trouble gets life threating and its all down to Cassie...
I could not put the book down and the ending made me empathise with Cassie (not just because we have the same name :))and her romance with an older boy. I honestly can not wait for the next one to see what happens next! You will have a little while to wait though as Divided Souls is not out until the 5th of August! I have mine pre ordered!
